Insider Tip
Pod offers a superior sake selection, creative and refreshing cocktails, an extensive wine list and imported Japanese beverages along with a delectable dessert menu. Try timing your visit for happy hour when certain drinks are half price.

Free WiFi
Pod’s ultra-modern design now has a new, invisible component: free wireless internet access is available to diners throughout the restaurant. So grab a seat at the sushi bar, bring along your laptop and stay connected while enjoying some fine sashimi.

Philadelphia’s renowned restaurateur Stephan Starr is behind Pod, a popular and stylish pan-Asian restaurant in University City.

The space is almost right out of a Sci-fi movie — stools that light up when you sit down; private egg-shaped dining spaces (or "pods") that change neon colors as you eat; and a conveyor belt that moves colorful plates of edamame, maki and sashimi around an elongated sushi bar for you to pick up when one strikes your fancy.

One of the best things about Pod is its versatility. Specializing in pan-Asian dim sum and sushi, Pod's cuisine is great for a party of two or twelve. You can sit at the sushi bar and have your pick of the fresh, hand-rolled sushi and sashimi specials that vary daily. Or reserve a pod with a group of friends and enjoy excellent dim sum offerings like sesame-crusted diver scallops with teriyaki sauce and wasabi aioli or spicy tempura rock shrimp with grilled pineapple and candied walnuts.

Either way, you are sure to enjoy the excellent Asian fare in what is truly a one-of-a-kind setting.
